The YAMAHA SU-10 was a portable sampler released in 1995. It boasted 4-voice polyphony with sample rates that could range from 11.64khz to 44.1 kHz. One of it's most unique features is a ribbon controller that can be utilised for filters, pitch and... digital record scratching!?

I've always wanted this little unit for ages now and was very glad to finally get one in my hands. A majority of the samples here are recorded in the "Long" quality mode which I've found retains the lo-fi feel without completing decimating the sound quality. Samples have a very resonant tone after being recorded and downsampled, perhaps a result of the way D/A and A/D conversion works?

I've tried to keep sounds here era appropriate, though I found a lot of the 90s electronic genres I tried to cover here all fit within the same sonic palete. All samples in this sample pack are all recorded off the SU-10, though I've applied extra effects processing where I felt necessary.
